Choose from three levels of pet insurance
Aviva’s pet insurance options range from Silver to Platinum, which includes generous cover, renewable benefits and up to 30 days overseas travel for your pet. There is a useful guide to the types of benefits available below.
The claim limit for each insurance option is subject to excesses, which are the amounts you have to pay for each claim.
- If your pet is under 6 years of age the excess is £100
- If your pet is 6 years of age or older, the excess is £100 for each illness or injury plus 20% of the remaining cost of the treatment.
- Third party legal liability is £250
- There is no excess for accidental damage

Your benefits for pet insurance cover levels
Advertising or Reward
If your pet goes missing, Aviva will provide £250 as a reward for the safe return of your pet as well as materials to help you find your pet up to £750.
Boarding Kennel Fees
If you’re hospitalised, Aviva will cover the cost of kennel and cattery fees if you are temporarily unable to care for your pet up to £1,000
Liability Cover
If your dog causes accidental injury, damage or death, Aviva will cover legal fees and third party liability up to £1 million per claim.
Holiday Cancellation
If your holiday is cancelled due to your pets health issues, Aviva will cover the cost of travel and accommodation costs up to £2,000.
Behavioural Problems & Clinical Diet
Aviva will provide cover for prescription food and vet directed treatment up to £200.

About Aviva Pet Insurance
Aviva currently provides pet insurance to both cats and dogs across the nation. They currently provide three policies, covering veterinary fees up to £6,500. In addition to this, Aviva will also cover benefits such clinical diet and behavioural problems so your pet is fully covered.
Please note that the claim limit for each insurance option is subject to excesses:
- You’ll pay the first £75 per claim each year for your pet
- You’ll need to pay an additional 15% contribution on claims for vet fees if your pet is ages 7 years and over
- For dogs, the excess on third party cover is £100 per incident.
