Choose from three levels of pet insurance

Argos Pet Insurance pet insurance  currently offer three policies, ranging from silver, gold and platinum. Each policy includes veterinary fee cover and renewable benefits. There is a useful guide to the types of benefits available below.

Argos Pet Insurance has compulsory, fixed, excess of £65 per condition per policy year. In addition to this, pet owners can also pay an optional excess of their choosing, from £50 to £100, to keep their premium lower.

Your benefits for pet insurance cover levels

Third Party Liability

If your dog responsible for causing an accident or injury, Argos will cover Third Party Liability claims up to £1,000,000 – £2,000,000, depending on your policy level.

Accidental Damage

If your pet damages someone’s property, Argos will provide cover for Accidental Damage up to £500.

Loss By Theft/Straying & Advertising

If your pet strays or is stolen, Argos will cover the original cost of your pet as well as the advertising and reward costs from £250 up to £750 – £1,000, depending on your level of coverage.

Death From Illness and Injury

If your pet dies as a result from illness or injury, Argos will cover the original costs of your pet from £250 up to £750 and £1,500.

Holiday Cancellation

Argos offers cover for holiday cancellation, in the event your cat or dog needs urgent surgery and you need to cancel your holiday, up to £1,500

Complementary Treatment & Special Diet

Argos will cover complementary medicine for your cat or dog up to 5 sessions for each condition. In addition to this, Argos Lifetime Policy will cover specially prescribed food for up to 4 weeks.

Overseas Travel

Argos’s vet fee cover extends worldwide, to countries part of the PETS Travel Scheme. Argos Pet Insurance provide cover for quarantine costs between £150 – £1,500, tick and worming treatment costs between £150 – £1,000 and emergency expenses abroad between £150 to £1,000. These prices are subject to your level of cover and policies terms and conditions

Boarding Fees

If your pet requires emergency stay in kennels or cattery’s while you are in hospital, Argos will cover the fees from £150 to £1,000 per policy period.

How long will it take to assess a claim?

Argos Pet Insurance aim to asses your claim within 5 working days, but can take up to 15 during busy periods. As soon as the claim is approved, they will pay you directly (minus your excess and any items not covered by your policy).

Argos’ Platinum package offers Lifetime cover and provides cover for vet fees up to £7,000 per policy year. They also provide cover for a range of benefits including dietary food up to four weeks,  death from accident or injury up to £1,500, emergency boarding up to £1,000 and holiday cancellation up to £3,000.

If you wish to make a claim with Argos Pet Insurance, you should ensure to follow the steps below:

  • Call the UK call centre on 0345 078 7500 to pre-authorise a claim.
  • Fill in a claim form by downloading one from https://www.argospetinsurance.co.uk/how-to-claim/ or call the UK call centre. You can also email claims@argospetinsurance.co.uk for them to email or post the forms to you.
