Co-ops pet insurance options range from Classic to Select Plus and include generous cover and optional benefits for your pet. There is a useful guide to the types of benefits available below.
The claim limit for each insurance option is subject to excesses, which are the amounts you have to pay for each claim. The excess for veterinary fees currently stands at £85. It can cost £75 if you opt for a lower level of cover.

Your benefits for pet insurance cover levels
Advertising or Reward
If your pet is lost or stolen, Co-op will pay for local advertising and offer a reward. Cover is limited up to £1,000 per policy year.
Death Due to Accident Or Illness
If your pet dies due to an accident or illness, Co-op will pay out the cost of your pet up to £1,500.
Boarding Kennel Fees
If you need to stay in the hospital for more than 4 consecutive days in hospital, Co-op will cover the costs of emergency boarding or daily minding fees up to £1,000 per year.
If your is liable for damage to third party property or causes injury or death, Co-op will pay up to £1 million per incident for legal costs, expenses and liability for compensation payouts against your dog.
If your pet needs life saving surgery, which requires you to cancel your holiday, co-op will cover holiday cancellation up to £2,000
Healthcare Away From Home
Co-op covers pet travel within the European Union and territories that are included in the Pet Travel Scheme (PETS). This covers emergency vet fees to the policy limit in addition to quarantine expenses up to £1,500 and emergency repatriation up to £500 per year.

What types of policy do Co-op offer?
Co Op Pet Insurance provides two levels of cover, Time Limited and Lifetime. Time Limited covers veterinary fees up to £2,000 for 12 months from the conditions first diagnosis. Lifetime covers veterinary fees up to £5,000 with no limit to how long you can claim for, providing there is no break in the cover.
Does Co-op cover pre-existing conditions?
Co-op does not provide cover for conditions, illnesses or injuries diagnosed before the policy start date or during the 14 day wait period. Any condition, illness or injury diagnosed after that period of time will be covered by the policy.
How long does it take to assess a claim?
