Holiday Cover

Sainsbury’s provides holiday cover as standard as part of your pet insurance policy. This includes trip cancellation up to £1,500, quarantine and loss of travel documents up to £1,500 and emergency repatriation for your pet up to £1,500.

Loss Cover

If your pet dies as a result from illness or injury, Sainsbury’s will cover the original costs of your pet up to £1,500 depending on the level of your policy. In addition to this, Sainsbury’s will also cover cremation costs up to £100 across all levels of cover

Does Sainsbury's Bank cover pre-existing conditions?

Sainsbury’s Bank will not provide cover for any conditions, illnesses or injuries that were sustained before the policy was incepted. Any conditions, injuries or illnesses that arise after the 14 day period of your policy, will be covered.

How long does it take to assess a claim?

About Sainsburys

Sainsbury’s pet insurance currently provides insurance cover for cats and dogs. Customers can choose from three policy levels, Standard, Premier, and Premier Plus as well as optional extras to help owners stay in control of their pets cover.

Standard Cover is a 12 Month time limited policy that covers up to £3,000 in vet fees, per condition. Additional benefits also include physiotherapy up to £500, behavioural treatment up to £250 and personal liability up to £1,000,000.

Premier Cover is a Maximum benefit policy that covers veterinary fees up to £7,500 per condition. The length of cover per condition is unlimited, but will stop once your vet fee limit runs out. Additional benefits includes complementary treatment and physiotherapy up to £1,000.

Premier Plus provides cover for veterinary fees up to £13,000 with an unlimited length of cover per condition. Premier plus also provides extended cost cover for benefits, such as £400 for behavioural treatment and £1,500 for complementary treatment and physiotherapy.
