Choose from three levels of travel insurance
The table below shows a summary of Legal and General’s travel insurance options. They currently have three levels of cover, Bronze, Silver and Gold, which offer a variety of benefits and generous cover. There is a useful guide to the type of benefits featured, below.
There is also a payable excess, which is fixed until the end of the policy. This excess ranges from £50 – 100 depending on your level of cover and is payable per person, per claim unless stated otherwise.

Your benefits for travel insurance cover levels
If you suffer an accident or illness while travelling abroad, Legal & General will cover the cost of your medical bills up to £15,000,000, depending on your level of cover. Legal & General will also also cover the cost of emergency dental treatment up to £500, funeral expenses up to £7,000 and in-patient benefit up to £50 a day (up to £1,000).
If you’re unable to return home and care for your pets due to accident or illness, Legal & General will cover the cost of kennels or Catteries up to £750 (£75 per 24 hours), depending on your level of cover.
If your personal belongings are lost, stolen or damaged, Legal and General will cover the cost to replace your items up to £3,000. This includes a single item limit of £250, a valuables limit of £250 and personal money up to £750. Please note that limits will vary depending on your level of cover.
Legal & Liability
If your found liable for damage, injury or loss, Legal & General will cover the cost of legal expenses up to £2,000,000 as standard.
What Type of Policies Do Legal & General Travel Insurance Offer?
Legal & General currently offer two core travel insurance policies, Single and Annual Multi Trip. Each policy comes with a variety of add ons and benefits to ensure you get the best cover for your trip.
What countries are not covered by Legal & General Travel Insurance?
Legal & General will not provide cover for countries or areas which the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has advised against all travel to. Does Legal & General Travel Insurance Cover Pre-Existing Conditions?
This will depend on the medical condition you have. Legal & General requires all medical conditions to be declared with them to ensure they are fully covered for their trip. How Long Does It Take to Assess A Claim?
