Your benefits for travel insurance cover levels

Medical Expenses

If you suffer an accident or illness whilst travelling abroad, Virgin Money will cover the cost of your medical treatment up to £15,000,000. However, if you choose the black level of cover, you will have unlimited cover for medical expenses (not including hospital benefit)

Personal Money

If your personal money is lost or stolen during your trip, Virgin Money will pay up to £750, depending on your level of cover.


Virgin Money provides cover for gadgets, such as tablets, laptops, e-readers, games consoles, audio and video equipment, photographic equipment and personal organisers, if they are lost, stolen or accidently damaged. Payout ranges from £200 to £600, depending on your level of cover. Please note, Mobile Phones are not covered on any of the travel insurance policies, without the add on. Virgin Money will cover the unrecoverable travel and accommodations costs of your trip up to £7,500 should you find yourself unable to commence travel or complete the trip.

What Type of Policies Do Virgin Money Travel Insurance Offer?

Virgin Money currently offer three travel insurance policies, Single Trip, Annual Multi Trip and Backpacker.

What countries are not covered by Virgin Money Travel Insurance?

Virgin Money will not provide cover for countries or areas which the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has advised against all travel to. This also includes areas with ‘advised against all but essential travel’. To check your destination’s FCO advice, visit

Does Virgin Money Travel Insurance Cover Pre-Existing Conditions?

Yes. Virgin Money can cover some pre-existing medical conditions. These will need to be declared when you apply for your policy. If they cannot cover your condition, Virgin Money will only exclude claims relating to that condition, the rest of your travel insurance cover will not be affected.

How Long Does It Take to Assess A Claim?

Virgin Money do not provide a time limit when dealing with claims.
