Scam company. Registered claim online- impossible to speak to anyone- on return from holiday. They state they will get back within 30 days. Nothing 3 months later. Permahold on phone. Keep registering queries online and informed they will respond within 24 hours- nothing. Still no idea with regard to claim and impossible to talk to someone. Avoid this bunch of cowboys at all costs

Scam Artists

Laptop, iPad, ghds, kindle, electric toothbrush, money, clothes, shoes and passport stolen from a locked car in car park covered by CCTV. They have said they will not cover any electrical goods, passports, money but they will consider paying out for knicked knickers stolen by the same thief from the same car at the same time in the same place. Go figure!!!

Avoid At All Costs

Avoid this company at all costs- they use Tif group to sort their claims and they are the most incompetent business for travel insurance I have ever used. After I made a claim and paid my excess immediately as required - almost 12 months after making my claim, they still have not paid out to the hospital where my son had treatment abroad. I am now receiving debt collection letters and demands for payment from the hospital constantly and they are no help whatsoever and will not help to resolve this. They are complete fraudsters, do not make the same mistake of using them as I did.

What optional extras can I add to my Puffin travel insurance policy?

Puffin Insurance offers a variety of “bolt-on” benefits so that you can tailor your travel insurance policy to suit your individual needs.

Winter sports cover

If you’re heading off on a ski or snowboarding holiday, you’ll want this extra level of protection. This additional level of cover provides you with protection for activities that involve snow or ice, including owned or rented equipment cover, ski equipment hire if your luggage is delayed and avalanche and piste closure. You will benefit from:

  • Up to £500 to repair or replace equipment that has been damaged, stolen or lost
  • Up to £250 to hire replacement equipment in the event that yours is delayed (max £25 per 24 hours)

Gadget cover

This optional extra covers the cost of repairing or replacing your gadgets such as your mobile phone, tablet or laptop if they are accidentally lost, stolen or damaged during your trip. Gadget cover is included as standard on all Platinum level policies up to £500 and is available as an optional extra on all policies up to £1000, increasing to £1500 for Platinum policies.
